Liam Fox defends call for ban of Medal of Honor game
Oh dear, Dr Fox (Defence Minister) has wondered into a stupid debate about Medal Of Honour. No doubt some Journo posed a question like 'Minister, what do you think about the new MOH game which allows people to play the Taliban and kill British forces?' to which any unknowing person might say sounds unreasonable. However he is bound to have checked it out by now so why is he sticking to his guns? so to speak.
Surely this is no different from cops & robbers which kids used to play in the yard, I don't remember anyone saying that perhaps some children were going to be enticed to be robbers when they grew up or that family members of people killed by robbers would be offended. In any case EA have confirmed 'No British troops feature in the game'.
I think my favourite Fox quote has to be "It's hard to believe any citizen of our country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game. I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product."
Thankfully the official government line is correct. BBC story on it here if your interested. . . . it's also got some more juicy footage to enjoy!
